People and Places - Bridgeton
There will be substantial investment in the public realm at Bridgeton Cross with new footways, environmental improvements as well as a lighting strategy to enhance and improve existing buildings.
It is also the wish of Clyde Gateway to bring the Olympia Building – which in its time has been a variety theatre, cinema and bingo hall – back into use. We have now completed the purchase of the Olympia and proposals for its conversion and adaptation are being prepared, with a guarantee that it will have an element of public use.
Improvements to the Tullis Street Cemetery are formed part of Clyde Gateway’s early action plans, and these were completed by October 2009.
