People and Places - Shawfield

The biggest changes to Shawfield will emerge after the M74 extension is completed, as it will sit adjacent to the new road and one of its major junctions at Polmadie.  The long-term vision is to deliver quality business and office space.

Much of Clyde Gateway’s early activities in Shawfield will centre around the continued acquisition of sites, as well as major investment in remediation works given the known history of chromium contamination in the area from the former chemical works.
