FINANCE MANAGER

We wish to recruit a qualified accountant to assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of our financial accounting and budgetary systems. This is a key post and the Finance Manager will ensure that the company and its trading subsidiary have effective internal control procedures. They will also play an integral part in the business planning and performance management processes.
Candidates must hold a professional accountancy qualification and have experience of preparing monthly and consolidated statutory accounts. Knowledge of both project and charity accounting is also welcome.

Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Executive Director of Resources:-
Design and manage a financial budgeting and reporting system
Production of statutory annual accounts and monthly management accounting information
Manage the URC’s resources in the pursuit of a physical, social and economic transformation of the area.
Assist with the financial and business planning, financial performance and internal audit
Responsibilities
Prepare annual accounts within timescales set
Prepare draft annual revenue and capital expenditure budgets
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and organisational plans
Prepare monthly financial statements and performance information for the Clyde Gateway Board and senior management team
Ensure effective financial controls that adhere to correct and proper procedures
Ensure financial governance of all external and partnership funding
Prepare cash-flow projections
Prepare, or contribute to the preparation of, business cases for new undertakings
Facilitate training, on an ongoing basis, for budget holders to assist them to fulfil their responsibilities for the management of funds
Liaise with external auditors, and assist in the implementation of recommendations where appropriate
Undertake ad hoc project work as determined by the Chief Executive and/or Executive Director of Resources
Experience and Skills Required
Possession of a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA)
Experience of finance team management with a proven track record of leadership
Experience of preparing statutory accounts including knowledge of consolidations
Awareness of charity accounting requirements
High degree of computer literacy
Experience of developing and implementing effective management accounting procedures
Confident, positive, enthusiastic, resilient, flexible and committed to a proactive approach
Ability to manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Excellent communication skills
Sound organisational and forward planning skills
Ability to work under pressure and assume a considerable degree of responsibility
Understanding of the aims and aspirations of Clyde Gateway
