Chief Executive - Ian Manson
Appointed as Chief Executive in April 2008, Ian Manson MA (Hons), M.Phil, has more than 25 years public sector experience in planning, economic development, business growth, regeneration and public/private partnerships.
His career has taken him to Birmingham, North Lanarkshire and Glasgow, where he has been based since 1991.
Ian has previously held a number of senior and key posts at Glasgow City Council, including those of Head of Corporate Policy and Senior Depute Director of Development & Regeneration, where he was in charge of physical planning, housing investment and community safety. Ian also enjoyed a two-year spell as Chief Advisor to the Leader of Glasgow City Council, Steven Purcell.

Chair - Dr Robert Crawford
Dr Robert Crawford CBE, BA (Hons), Ph.D is the Chair of Clyde Gateway.
He is currently Executive Director of Business Development at Glasgow Caledonian University, a post he has held since November 2006, but he is soon to take up the position of Chief Operating Officer of the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA).
He has had a long and distinguished career in business and academia, including spells as Chief Executive Officer of the Merseyside Partnership and as Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, as well as working at the highest level within the private sector with blue-chip firms such as the Wood Group PLC and Ernst & Young.
Robert was also employed by the World Bank in Washington DC from 1996-98.

Vice-Chair - Chris Thompson
Chris Thompson of South Lanarkshire Council is Vice-Chair of Clyde Gateway.
A Councillor since 1995, Chris Thompson has also many years experience as a Senior Executive with a Business Services company, and has worked on a number of regeneration projects over a period of twenty years.
He has been Chair of Enterprise Resources at South Lanarkshire since 1999, with responsibility for a wide range of activities including regeneration, business development and funding, roads and transportation, planning and estates.
Additionally, Chris is a member of the Board of Directors of West of Scotland Loan Fund which worked in partnership with the private sector to increase the supply of capital to small and medium sized businesses.

Board Member - Liz Connolly
Liz Connolly BA (Hons), MBA began her career in the private sector with a Scottish-based advertising and marketing company, before joining the Scottish Development Agency in the mid 1980s. Liz has since held a number of positions within local, regional and national regeneration bodies, working on a number of key activities including economic research, policy planning and strategic development.
She was appointed to the new post of Regional Director – West within Scottish Enterprise in April 2008. Prior to this, she had been Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire, having also held the equivalent post at Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire.
Liz is also a Board member of Strathclyde European Partnership Ltd and sits on the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport.

Board Member - Hamish McBride
Hamish McBride is one of the best-known community activists in South Lanarkshire.
He spent 35 years of his life in a managerial position with British Steel. Upon retirement, he enjoyed a spell as a consultant to the international steel industry, but nowadays devotes much of his time and energy working on a wide range of local issues.
Hamish is highly involved in a whole range of community groups in South Lanarkshire, including the Cathkin Neighbourhood Management Steering Group, Rutherglen Community Council and the Cambuslang Area Forum. He is also heavily committed to a number of voluntary sector organisations which are working to achieve the physical regeneration of areas and improving the wellbeing of local residents.

Board Member - Neil McDonald
Neil has enjoyed a successful career in business and industry, on the shop floor, in management and at boardroom level, for almost 50 years. A design engineer by training, with an initial qualification from a Lanarkshire college, his career within a number of prestigious engineering and shipbuilding firms took him all over the world.
He is currently Chairman of both Barr & Wray (Holdings) PLC and Martin Aerospace Ltd as well as having a long involvement at the highest level in public bodies.
Neil is a past Chair of local training and enterprise trusts in Cumbernauld, East Kilbride and Hamilton, and is a member of the Scottish Industrial Development Advisory Board, the Scottish Enterprise Investment Advisory Board and the Smart Scotland Advisory Board.

Board Member - Alisdair McIntosh
Alisdair McIntosh has been head of regeneration policy in the Scottish Government since 2005, where his responsibilities include the Government’s programmes of support for regeneration across the country.
In the five years before taking on his current role, Alisdair held a number of policy positions in the Scottish Government. His earlier career was divided between the EU in Brussels, working for the UK Government and then the European Commission, and the Treasury in London.
He studied at Durham, Paris and London universities, and at business school at INSEAD (France).
Alisdair also serves as a non-executive director of the Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum, and also of Real Life Options, a not-for-profit company that provides care for people with learning and behavioural difficulties.

Board Member - Stuart Patrick
Stuart Patrick is currently the Senior Commercial Director for Scottish Enterprise, with responsibility for leading on the development of the future business plans, for advising on the development of major projects and for securing funds into the organisation's plans.
He has 20 years of experience in economic development having previously been the Operations Director for Scottish Enterprise in Glasgow and playing a leading role in shaping the policies and projects at the heart of Glasgow's economic renaissance.
Stuart is a chartered accountant by profession and has an has an MBA from Strathclyde University. He also serves on the Board of the Glasgow Science Centre.

Board Member - George Redmond
George Redmond was first elected to serve the Bridgeton/Dalmarnock ward on Glasgow City Council in 1999, and now represents an expanded ward that also includes Barrowfield, Calton and Parkhead. He is currently Chair of the Planning Committee, and has previously served as Chair of the Property Committee.
Born in Dalmarnock, George has lived and worked in the local community for almost all his life. He is presently the Chief Executive of BCD Credit-Union, based at Bridgeton Cross.
Having seen the lasting effects that high unemployment and low levels of investment have had on the communities, George is passionate about the positive impact Clyde Gateway will have on everyone who lives and works in the area, and is 100% committed to its completion.

Board Member - Rosemary Robertson
A high level of engagement with local community groups and voluntary projects is nothing new to Rosie Robertson.
Rosie is a resident of the East End of Glasgow and leads a busy life in the heart of the area. She is the Community Learning Co-ordinator for PEEPS, an adult literacy and numeracy project based in the Bridgeton Community Learning Campus (BCLS), as well as being a student at the University of Glasgow about to enter the third year of a BA in Community Development.
Rosie is also a director with BCLC and East End Kids & Co, as well as chairperson of Connect 2 Out of School Care, and a mother to Ross who is almost 10 years of age.

Board Member - George Ryan
George Ryan BA has been an elected councillor for the Shettleston ward in the East End of Glasgow since 1995.
He is presently the Executive Member for Development & Regeneration Services with responsibility for economic investment, worklessness, planning, tourism, housing, economic and social regeneration, building control, transport policy and the Council’s property portfolio.
George recently completed a Post Graduate course to qualify as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH). A member of the Scottish Lay Judiciary, he serves on Employment tribunals and Ministry of Defence tribunals.

Board Member - Graham Scott
Graham Scott was first elected to South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) in 1995, since when he has served on all the major committees within the authority.
A past chair of the East Kilbride Area Committee, he has developed a knowledge and expertise on planning and regeneration that has been put to use as Chair of the SLC Planning Committee since 1999 and of the Glasgow & Clyde Valley Structure Joint Plan Committee, and which will now help shape and develop a range of activities within Clyde Gateway.
Graham was also a Director of Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire from 2005 – 2008.

Board Member - Satty Singh
Satty Singh is one of Scotland’s leading business entrepreneurs.
In 1994, he opened Mr Singh’s India, located at Charing Cross, Glasgow, a hugely popular curry house with a world-wide reputation for quality.
Satty later successfully diversed into the family property business, and then in 2004 he acquired Mearns Castle Golf Academy, turning it into one of the country’s best and most popular place to learn golf under professional tuition. He launched Golf in the Community in 2008 as a grassroots project aimed at schoolchildren in East Renfrewshire
In 2005, Satty became the first Asian person to hold the position of Director of Rangers Youth Development Fund, while his latest venture into promotions has already brought President Bill Clinton, Vice-President Al Gore and Dr Hans Blix to the UK.
