Clyde Gateway's involvement with schools is extensive and varied.
We support over 1,000 pupils and their parents through Active Schools - an integrated community engagement project in secondary schools which provides opportunities for children, young people and their families to participate in physical activity, as well as building a sustainable volunteer network across the Clyde Gateway area.

As part of the community involvement around the Bridgeton Cross improvement project, we worked with two east end primary schools to develop lessons on the history and significance of the area as well as other arts, music and drama projects and activities designed to spark pupils' imagination about what they would like to see.
We have supported a number of local secondary schools:-
- Eastbank Academy has benefited from Learning Clubs to support P7 pupils moving into S1 and S4-6 who may need additional exams assistance. It has also had several work experience placements and mock interview advice from our staff and a number of our contractors. Pupils also designed the hoardings for the Eastgate office development;
- St Mungo's Academy also benefited from Learning Clubs and pupils will be involved in the Olympia Theatre project, including work experience, links to a local college, curriculum input and a Glasgow Life library and history project;
- Cathkin and Rutherglen High schools have links to one of our contractors working on local projects. The schools have also benefited from visits, work experience and teacher placements;
- Stonelaw High School is linked to our work at Shawfield and want to enhance the science, technical studies and geography curriculum. A workshop has been arranged to allow “speed networking” between school staff and technical specialists working on the project.
This work will continue apace and further reflect our long-term ambitions for the next generation of residents, labour force and community.
