Transformational Projects
Our level of activity is on a scale never seen in Scotland, with more than £1billion of investment guaranteed alone until 2014:-
- the five-mile extension to the M74 Motorway
- the construction of the East End Regeneration Route, linking the M8 and extended M74
- the new Commonwealth Sports Arena and Sir Chris Hoy velodrome, before Glasgow hosts the 2014 Commonwealth Games
- the 2014 Athletes’ Village will be also be located within Clyde Gateway – a village that, post-Games, will become a new east end waterfront housing neighbourhood.
In addition to all of the above, we're delivering other transformational projects across the communities - the Eastgate office development, Clyde Gateway East Business Park, the Olympia Theatre project and the Red Tree Business Suites. We're working with our partners to deliver others in the years ahead, most notably a cost-effective head office and business hub for Strathclyde Police at a site within South Dalmarnock on the banks of the River Clyde and the re-development of Dalmarnock Station.
The estimated cost of these transformational projects is £110m.
