Eastgate
Eastgate, is Glasgow's largest new-build office development. It is on a formerly derelict site 300 yards east of Bridgeton Cross, at the junction of Brook Street and London Road.

The state-of-the-art 6,000-square-metre development cost £9.7m and is now the new Headquarters of Glasgow Community Safety Services (GCSS). More GCSS information: www.saferglasgow.com
Construction of the building, which will house 500 staff, began in January 2011 and was completed in March 2012, with the first of the GCSS staff moving in at the beginning of April 2012.
During the construction phase, the site became well-known thanks to it being surrounded by eye-catching, imaginative hoardings designed by pupils from Glasgow's Eastbank Academy as part of the community engagement we promote with local schools. Details and further information: this webpage.
Dawn Group carried out the construction; Aviva Investors, the UK's largest real estate manager, paid for the entire cost. City Building, Glasgow City Council's arm's-length construction company, was responsible for fitting-out the offices.
Eastgate's construction supported local employment: Dawn Group and City Building provided full-time posts, modern apprenticeships, training placements and work experience for 70 Clyde Gateway residents.
