CG1 Bus Service

CG1 is a local bus service provided by Clyde Gateway.

It came into operation for a four-year period from 1 June 2015 – 31 May 2019 as part of a new Sustainable Transport Project, with support from a range of partners, including Transport Scotland and SPT.

Clyde Gateway has been able to continue the service into early 2020, with it being delivered on our behalf by JPM Coaches. It remains an hourly service on Mondays to Fridays between Rutherglen and Carmyle via Shawfield, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Emirates Arena, and Clyde Gateway East.

The first journey leaves Rutherglen at 6am with the last journey departing from Carmyle at 6.27pm. The route links four railway stations and further improves access to those locations that are increasingly becoming home to new offices, factories and commercial developments across Clyde Gateway, as well as being a service that can be enjoyed by local residents to take them from their homes to leisure and community facilities, including nursery and primary schools.

The fares for CG1 are £1.20 for short journeys and £1.70 for longer journeys, with children aged 5-16 able to travel for 50p. Concessionary card holders and children under school age can travel free.
