Tree Planting at Old Dalmarnock Road

Yesterday (Monday 30th January 2023), children from Early Years Scotland helped plant trees with contractors as part of a soft launch for our newest greenspace project on Old Dalmarnock Road.

The Old Dalmarnock Road Green Infrastructure project has transformed vacant land beside the Bridgeton Community Learning Campus into “active greenspace” after a £1m investment from Clyde Gateway.

The new community park includes a woodland path for walkers, areas to support biodiversity, new entrances and a junior bike circuit.

Local groups and residents have been involved in the plans at every stage and hope that it will be an important asset in the heart of Bridgeton.

Lesley Ward from Bridgeton Community Learning Campus (BCLC) welcomed everyone to the greenspace and gave thanks to Luddon and Clyde Gateway for the hard work and dedication shown to complete the project.

Lesley also highlighted the community benefits delivered by Luddon as part of the works, which included an entrance tidy up at BCLC, repairs to vandalised render on the existing BCLC building, provision of a steel storage container and provision of tools, clothing seeds etc, for use by the community garden projects led by BCLC.
